Etymology

” The word probably comes from the management of Italian (1561) maneggiare which means “control,” especially “to control the horse” that comes from the Latin manus which means “hand”.These words have been influenced from French manège which means “horse property” (which comes from the English language that means the art of controlling a horse), where this English term is also derived from the Italian.French and adopt these words from English into ménagement, which means the art of implementing and managing.
